These unprecedented times can easily make us feel overwhelmed and worried. Here are five simple S's you can follow to alleviate the pain of stress.
Welcome to Arista Advice. Hope you're well.
Question of the week is: "Paul, what should I do when I start to feel overwhelmed?" Terrific question.
Let me share with you five S's to help you to not feel overwhelmed.
Number one: Schedule important tasks first. Plan and write down on paper the things that are a priority to you.
Number two: Set some boundaries. Some boundaries will help you understand the importance of prioritizing the yeses and the nos. Often times we feel overwhelmed when we have given out the word "Yes" to too many people.
Number three: Say no. Say no to the negative thoughts that our minds are telling us that we should do, or haven't done, or could have done, or should have done.
Number four: Stop and breathe. Relax, straighten your posture, and take at least 10 breaths, and pause.
Number five: Start taking action on your priorities and say no to more things.
As you do these things, you will be able to clearly focus on the important things that matter, have the confidence to execute your tasks, and have the emotional discipline to deal with the increased pressure, and eventually get to more peace.
